Available Positions

Marketing Co-ordinator

Marketcircle’s seeking a talented and driven individual for the position of “Marketing Co-ordinator”. We’re looking for someone creative, ambitious, and fun, to handle all our marketing and communications initiatives.

As a marketing coordinator you’ll need to be able to work independently – both on assigned projects and in coming up with your own. Be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment with big opportunities.

Responsibilities

Public Relations

• manage product launches, coordinating press for software releases
• build new relationships with online press (bloggers, tech. writers, etc.), as well as with traditional media (magazines, TV)
• maintain existing PR relationships

Copywriting

• create and manage content for new and existing products (including web pages, App Store descriptions, printed marketing collateral, trade show material, etc.
• frequently contribute unique business-related articles to the Marketcircle Blog

Website Optimization & SEO

• creative direction for new and existing product and company webpages (copywriting, images, and creative direction)
• use SEO to generate organic website traffic
• use HTML/CSS to modify existing webpages and coordinate with web developer and designer for more complex pages and new content

Social Media

• manage company Twitter and Facebook accounts (post news, monitor and respond to customers, etc.)
• publish news and press releases on the Marketcircle Blog and respond to customer comments
• active contributor to the Marketcircle Forums

Advertising

• coordinate campaigns with advertising networks
• create effective image and contextual advertising campaigns (Google AdWords, BuySellAds, print magazines, etc.)

Analytics

• monitor web traffic with Google Analytics
• measure effectiveness of advertising, PR, and SEO activities
• monitor and tweak Google AdWords campaigns

Reporting

• monitor and measure key performance indicators
• implement measures of return on investment on all marketing activities

Required Skills

• writing must be second nature to you
• strong understanding of Internet marketing and trends
• attention to detail (down to the pixel)
• comfortable meeting new people in person
• natural creative ability, independent thinker
• able to work with others, but also on your own without much supervision

Junior Software Engineer

We are looking for a junior software engineer that is excited to work on modern technologies such as Cocoa (Mac OS X), Cocoa Touch (iPhone, iPad, iPod) and web standards (html, css, javascript). You don't have to know all of these specific technologies, but you must be able to show a keen aptitude to grasp new programming concepts quickly.

Requirements

• Located in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). No remote workers or relocations.
• Fluent in English with good communication skills (written and oral).
• Be able to show previous technical/programming work.
• Be able to demonstrate technical problem solving skills.

Nice to haves

• Working knowledge of Objective-C & design patterns.
• Working knowledge of Cocoa, Cocoa Touch.
• Working knowledge of Xcode and using the debugger.
• Working knowledge of source control (Mercurial is our tool of choice).
• Working knowledge of HTML, XML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX.

Junior Interface Designer

We are looking for a user interface designer with an eye for detail, a sense for usability, and the ability to create beautiful interfaces. You’ll work together with other designers and directly with engineers to implement your designs.

Requirements

A good candidate would have a strong visual design ability, and would be knowledgeable of Mac, iPhone and iPad design patterns and best practices.

The most important requirement is that we must be able to see examples of your previous work and you must be able to discuss/critique your design choices.

Other Requirements:

• Fluent in English with good communication skills (written and oral).
• Some level of Photoshop proficiency.

Junior/Intermediate Test Engineer

We are looking for an individual that can help test our various Mac OS, iOS and Web applications. You'll be working with senior staff.

Requirements

A good candidate would have a knack to break things and find bugs with a strong fluency in verbal and written English (to communicate the issues). While we are not expecting an expert, we are expecting someone with some prior experience in testing and someone that exhibits passion for his/her field.

• Fluent in English with good communication skills (written and oral).
• Have some prior experience in testing.
• Be able to demonstrate technical problem solving skills.
• Experience with Mac OS and iOS so that you understand user expectations.
• Experience with scripting tests.

Senior Software Engineer

We are looking for a senior software engineer that is excited about cloud based technologies, and shows a passion for delivering best of breed cloud based software solutions.

Requirements

You will come with a strong knowledge of key server-based technologies including Debian Linux and Mac OS Virtualization (specifically Xen), NGNX webserver software, PostgreSQL relational database (including configuration, maintenance and use) and Python/Django (and related technologies). You will also have a strong working knowledge of key client-side technologies including Javascript, Sproutcore, Objective-C/Cocoa for Mac OS and iOS.

Other Requirements:

• Located in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA)
• Fluent in English with good communication skills (written and oral).
• Be able to show previous solutions built using technologies mentioned above.
• Strong working knowledge of virtualization on Debian Linux and Mac OS using Xen
• Strong working knowledge of PostgreSQL (duties will include configuration, maintenance and usage)
• Strong working knowledge of Django and Python, with experience using SQLAlchemy and Twisted with Django
• Strong working knowledge of Web clients using Sproutcore, Javascript and HTML
• Strong working knowledge of desktop clients using Objective-C, C and Cocoa
• Strong working knowledge of mobile clients using Objective-C and CocoaTouch (iOS)
• Strong working knowledge of source control using Mercurial and GIT
• Knowledge of F-Script

Nice to haves

• Fluent in either French or German as we localize our solutions in these languages
• Experience with hardware configuration for Co-Location
