I'm a born Illustrator with a degree in Graphic Design. I'm in love with what I do. I've been running my own business since 2008, offering services on the user interface field and branding. My clients are mostly companies/brands with a need of a professional, fresh and creative way to present themselves. I give special attention to details, and I focus in getting the best result possible for every project.
My invoicing process was manual, it was taking too much time out of my working hours. I used to fill the invoices in Adobe Illustrator. At first I wanted to be able to design it the way a wanted, and Numbers (Excel for Mac) was not an option for this. Later on I just got used to the whole process, but as a result it would take longer for me to set aside the time to do the invoicing. That's when I started looking for the best solution for invoicing. It had to be fast but also beautiful, a software that I would feel confortable using all the time.
The fact that I had to look for every client's details to fill every invoice. For recurring clients I could duplicate previous invoices but this sometimes resulted in errors. That's why I love the syncing feature of Billings with the Address Book. I can use all of the Address Book fields to personalize the design in Billings and have all the client's details I need.
I had installed Billings a few years ago, but it didn't support my principal currency (Bs), so I couldn't use it back then. I checked a few months ago to see if it had been added. As soon as I saw it was available I downloaded the Free trial and started testing the app.
Billings helped me keep track of the time spent in every step of a project, no matter how small or big it is. It has helped me to prepare estimates with more accuracy and faster. With a quick view to the home screen of Billings Touch I can see how much I've accomplished in a day, and how that compares to the rest of the week. And last but not least, It feels like it completely cut down all the time I spent doing invoices, It feels like It's only a click of a button and everything is just how i designed it and exactly what I needed to billed.
It helped me set a fixed hourly rate. With the estimated slips vs working slips I've been able to have a real time of completion for a project. The old method would caused me to lose revenue due to a poor time calculation. The other obvious answer would be the extra hours that I can now used to do actual work.
