marketcircle macworld 2012

Once again we were speculating about exhibiting at Macworld, but after some thought we decided we just can’t give up the face-to-face opportunity with all the people we meet with – the customers, prospects, and other software developers.

This year, we’ll be showcasing our latest product, Billings Pro with Marketcircle Cloud, as well as our award-winning Daylite and Billings products.

So please come support the show and stop by our booth to say hello. We’ll be in the Mac OS X Zone, at booth #228.

The show is taking place from January 26th – 28th, 2012, and is located at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Visit the Macworld Expo website for show hours and specific location.

Oh, and if you’d like a free pass, visit this Macworld Expo link and fill in your details. We only have a hundred free passes, so grab them quickly!

Willie The Bee Man

December 1, 2011 on 1:26 pm | Ryan

Our latest two case studies both come from Willie The Bee Man, an expert in bee removal.

Willie uses both Daylite and Billings Pro to help manage his company’s busy schedule and invoicing processes.

Because of Daylite:

“The technicians can complete more bee removal jobs in a day because of the better organization and planning”

And with Billings Pro, Willie said:

“I receive payments faster, and address customer satisfaction issues quicker because I have more time to spend with clients”

Also, a big thanks to Tito at MacWorks for helping WIllie and his team get setup.

Fujitsu ScanSnap Giveaway Winner from LITS

November 7, 2011 on 12:47 pm | Ryan

We asked visitors at our booth during the London International Technology Show to drop off their business card for a chance to win a brand new Fujitsu ScanSnap S1100.

The winner of our giveaway is Sean Brady of Eltham, London!

scansnap s1100

As a reminder, we offer a plugin that integrates Daylite with Fujitsu ScanSnap scanners.

Scanned documents can be stored as chronological history under the relevant object in Daylite, making it fast and easy to access them when needed. ScanSnap integration allows you to quickly scan documents and bring them into your Mac, letting you easily link them to projects, contacts, sales opportunities, and more.

Congrats again Sean, and thanks to everyone who came by our booth!

London International Technology Show Recap

October 27, 2011 on 5:23 pm | Ryan

We just got back from our first trade-show in the UK and wanted to take a minute to share how it went.

Marketcircle sponsored the MacUser Awards Show which took place last Thursday, and were proud to have been nominated for Business Software of the Year. Although we didn’t win, we still ended up as a 2011 MacUser Awards Finalist.

Here are a few pics from the event:

Us after finding out we didn’t win :(

For the following 3 days we had a booth at the London International Technology Show – a show featuring exhibitors in several different industries, with Mac being one of them.

Since the show was a mix of Mac and PC vendors, we were able to talk to quite a few people that were considering switching their PC-based businesses over to Mac. The iPhone and iPad were often mentioned as the precursors that sparked their interest.

The show also featured a “Mac Museum”, showcasing some of Apple’s iconic hardware achievements during the past 35 years. It was interesting but at the same time bittersweet, with the recent passing of Steve Jobs.

We had some help at the booth from local partners, including Bill Verkaik from JG Consulting, and Amal Douglas from DMC Consultancy. Just want to take a second to extend our thanks once again – thank you!

To end this off I’ll share a few photos from the show floor:

And finally, an offtopic photo – a Veyron in the London Bugatti Dealership (I’m a car nut).

…luckily there was a racing simulator at the show to keep me at bay ;)

Migrating MobileMe to iCloud

October 13, 2011 on 11:30 am | Ryan

We’ve gotten reports from customers that are currently synchronizing Daylite with Address Book and MobileMe are getting duplicate contacts when migrating from MobileMe to iCloud.

We’re asking that you hold off on migrating from MobileMe to iCloud (which we know is very tempting) until we have a workaround to prevent these duplicates.

We have a hunch on how we can prevent this, but we haven’t been able to test it as Apple’s servers are currently overloaded.

We didn’t have access to this feature during the developer betas.

We’ll update you on this situation by end of day Friday.

iOS 5 compatibility

October 11, 2011 on 3:52 pm | Ryan

Just a quick post to let everyone know about our apps and their compatibility with iOS 5:

Daylite

Daylite Touch is iOS 5 compatible. It works fine on iPhone and iPad running iOS 5.

Billings and Billings Pro Touch

Billings Touch 1.1.5 and Billings Pro Touch 1.5.1 add support for TextExpander touch.

Billings Touch 1.1.5 is now available in the App Store.

Billings Pro Touch has been submitted to the App Store but is still awaiting Apple’s approval. The current version of Billings Pro Touch work fine – there are just a few minor UI glitches that you may encounter, but otherwise it functions as expected.

Stay tuned to the Marketcircle blog or follow us on twitter to stay up to date with Marketcircle news.

MCPC 2011 Recap

October 11, 2011 on 3:46 pm | Ryan

Last week we held our third annual Marketcircle Partner Conference, and I’m pleased to say it went very well!

This year we decided to change up the venue from the usual Niagara Falls to Downtown Toronto. It was a nice change of scenery, and a great chance for the out-of-towner’s to see something new.

The setting allowed for great food, shopping, and sightseeing.

A couple of our brave partners, along with Nelly from Marketcircle, completed the CN Tower EdgeWalk (pic below)!

We had Partners from all across the globe, including Canada, United States, Germany, United Kingdom, Australia, and France.

Both our staff and Partners seemed to agree that it was our best conference yet!

Every year we honour a few Partners that have gone above and beyond. We hand out awards to those that have achieved a high level of success, for a few different categories.

Here are this year’s winners:

Top Producer: iOSXpert – Alf Ruppert, Germany

The Top Producer award goes to the Partner who has generated the most customer growth both for themselves and for Marketcircle in a region. iOSXpert has won this award for thee years in a row!

Best Website: GlobalMac Consulting – Tom Lambotte OH, USA

A website that is easy to navigate, easy to find contact info, good use of testimonials, nice standard footer on all pages, good blog, social media links have been included but are not overdone, good implementation of hover states.

Most Daylite Implementations: Blacktip IT – Matthew Bookspan FL, USA

Most Daylite implementations reported to Marketcircle since last MCPC.

Most Billings Pro Implementations: Blacktip IT – Matthew Bookspan FL, USA

Most Billings Pro implementations reported to Marketcircle since last MCPC.

“Link” Award: Orion iIT – Jeff Haynor NY, USA

An award to acknowledge an ability to forge new relationships (specifically with Apple in this case) that benefit both the Partner, the client, and Marketcircle.

Award of Excellence: Puremac – Adrian Treahy Sydney, Australia

An award to acknowledge overall excellence in every aspect of Partnership; quality customer implementations, building of key relationships, assisting fellow Partners, positively influencing the community of Marketcircle customers as a whole, etc.

On behalf of Marketcircle I’d like to extend a big thanks to everyone for coming in – especially those flying in to see us (we all know how fun airports are).

We’re already looking forward to our next conference.

Without further ado, here are some photos:

Six new case studies

September 26, 2011 on 4:23 pm | Ryan

We’ve just uploaded six new case studies to our website. The case studies introduce a few new industries for us, while highlighting some of the more familiar ones.

Daylite

We’ve got three new case studies from Daylite users; a financial services company, an insurance company, and a touching story from a man named Mark that used Daylite to help him stay on top of his wife’s cancer treatment.

You’ll find that Mark’s story takes a different approach than our regular case studies do. He took the time to carefully write his heartwarming story in detail, and I’d like to thank him once again for sharing it with us.

His wife’s doing well too by the way : )

Billings Pro

We’ve got a new Billings Pro case study from a construction company in the UK.

The company, called ConstructPRO, said:

“The collection and input of data is a breeze. It has improved our invoicing efficiency by at least 300%.”

Billings

Our new Billings case studies both come from talented designers; Aaron Mahnke of Wet Frog Studios, and fellow Canadian Linn Øyen Farley of Drollic.

Submit your story

If you’re interested in telling us your story please get in touch. We’re especially on the lookout for companies using our products in industries that we haven’t yet featured, but we’re open to everyone.

Daylite & Daylite Server are now fully Lion compatible

August 24, 2011 on 11:27 am | Ryan

We’ve released Daylite and Daylite Server (versions 3.15) that are both fully compatible with Apple’s OS X Lion.

For the full release notes, check out our Knowledge Base article.

Attention Tiger users:

Daylite and Daylite Server 3.15 do not work on Tiger (10.4).

We’ve had tremendous difficulty compiling the apps and daemons (background processes) such that they work on 10.4, 10.5, 10.6 and 10.7, and as a result we’ve ceased Tiger support. If you’re running Tiger you will need to stay on Daylite 3.14. We estimate that less than 2% of our users are on Tiger at this point. We apologize for cutting the cord on Tiger without much notice.

We are still able to support Leopard (10.5), Snow Leopard (10.6) users with Daylite 3.15.

To accommodate those that are running Daylite Server or Daylite on a Tiger machine but have Lion on some desktop/laptops, we’ve made Daylite 3.15 interoperate with Daylite 3.14. However, we recommend upgrading those computers soon.

Instructions for upgrading to Daylite and Daylite Server 3.15 can be found here.

Get Daylite and Daylite Server from our Daylite downloads page.

We’d like to thank the many people on our forums that helped us beta test 3.15!

All of our products are now Lion compatible.
