We’ve created a page for users to easily check on the status of Marketcircle Cloud (currently powering Billings Pro).

When we have an announcement to make about Marketcircle Cloud we’ll post it on this page. We’ll also continue to send out a tweet from the @marketcircle account with a #status tag.

Upcoming maintenance on our Cloud system will also be posted on this page.

You can bookmark the new Marketcircle Cloud Status page, or find it easily from our website’s navbar under the support header.

Thanks!

Getting ready for the post-PC world

November 8, 2011 on 2:54 pm | Ryan

Mr. Jetha, 42, is a self-taught software specialist, rather than a trained software engineer. He credits childhood hours spent with Lego for teaching him how to put things together, and giving him the building blocks of entrepreneurial success. “If you have the desire to do it, just do it,” says Marketcircle’s chief executive officer.

The Globe and Mail interviews Marketcircle CEO Alykhan Jetha for it’s Business Without Borders series.

Check out the video below (unfortunately they only made it available in Flash so it won’t play on your iPhone/iPad – quite ironic given the title of their article):

Come see us at the London International Technology Show

October 12, 2011 on 11:42 am | Ryan

We’re heading to London in a few weeks for our first-ever trade show outside of North America.

We’ll be exhibiting at the London International Technology Show from the 21st – 23rd of October.

The show takes place at London’s ExCel centre and will feature top technology brands, showcasing the latest hardware and software technology. There’s an entire section dedicated to Apple stuff, even featuring a “hall of fame”, showcasing Apple’s progress in technology over the past 35 years.

The show isn’t strictly limited to Apple products – there are also other “zones” that focus on photography, mobile computing, gaming, 3D technology, and more.

There’s even a booth called “Top Gear Test Track” – we don’t know what to expect but we’re excited!

To learn about the zones and what they have to offer, check out this page.

For directions to the show, visit this page.

Our booth number is M20.

You can purchase tickets in advance to avoid lining up.

Six new case studies

September 26, 2011 on 4:23 pm | Ryan

We’ve just uploaded six new case studies to our website. The case studies introduce a few new industries for us, while highlighting some of the more familiar ones.

Daylite

We’ve got three new case studies from Daylite users; a financial services company, an insurance company, and a touching story from a man named Mark that used Daylite to help him stay on top of his wife’s cancer treatment.

You’ll find that Mark’s story takes a different approach than our regular case studies do. He took the time to carefully write his heartwarming story in detail, and I’d like to thank him once again for sharing it with us.

His wife’s doing well too by the way : )

Billings Pro

We’ve got a new Billings Pro case study from a construction company in the UK.

The company, called ConstructPRO, said:

“The collection and input of data is a breeze. It has improved our invoicing efficiency by at least 300%.”

Billings

Our new Billings case studies both come from talented designers; Aaron Mahnke of Wet Frog Studios, and fellow Canadian Linn Øyen Farley of Drollic.

Submit your story

If you’re interested in telling us your story please get in touch. We’re especially on the lookout for companies using our products in industries that we haven’t yet featured, but we’re open to everyone.

Daylite for Lawyers (new webpage)

August 16, 2011 on 12:28 pm | Ryan

We’ve recently put together a new webpage to share how lawyers can use Daylite.

The page refers to key objects in Daylite in a tone that lawyers can appreciate so that they’ll better understand some of Daylite’s concepts. You’ll find a PDF document that goes into a bit more detail, and talks about how you can use the legal industry database template to get started.

There are two videos on the page that illustrate how you can manage cases and keep track of new potential clients with Daylite.

Many lawyers use scanners to scan important documents, so we also included information and videos on our integration with Fujitsu ScanSnap scanners.

We’re also going to use this page to share any case studies from users in the law industry (there are three great stories on the page so far).

At the bottom of the page we link to two great external resources for lawyers, the Milo Group (Macs in Law Offices) and an email discussion group for lawyers using Macs called MacLaw.

So check out the page and feel free to share it with any of your friends in the industry.

Daylite – The Little CRM That Could

August 2, 2011 on 2:06 pm | Ryan

Thought I’d share a a very well written review of Daylite by Elaine Montoya.

Elaine is the CEO of motion.tv, “the ‘hulu’ for motion graphics, vfx, and animation”, and rediscovered Daylite after deciding to leave SugarCRM in search of “a CRM that really was a good fit”.

Here’s a small excerpt from the lengthy review:

Daylite and the Daylite ecosphere – including Daylite Touch for the iPad, and Daylite Touch for the iPhone – provide an extremely powerful, and highly customizable CRM solution that just works.

As a followup to Editor’s Choice Award post I thought I’d include the actual review of Billings 3 in MacUser’s print magazine.

You can view a PDF of the review if you don’t have the superhuman vision required to read it in the size below. Apologies for the slight blurriness with the scanned copy.

My Experience with Billings 3

April 21, 2011 on 4:27 pm | Ryan

A great review of Billings 3 by Chris Honniball of Media Lab Creative.

When I stumbled upon Marketcircle’s little gem of an application I was searching for an invoicing system that:

  • Didn’t require me to pay a monthly membership.
  • Wasn’t a web application.
  • Had a custom invoice design option.
  • Was easy to use.
  • Looked like it was a Mac App.
  • Billings fit the bill.

After two days, 6 hours of experimenting, one estimate, and one timed project; I’ve come to the conclusion that Billings 3 is some pretty impressive software. Though it still has it’s pitfalls, it is an extremely useful application I would recommend to any freelancer.
