Creating Custom Forms in Daylite

Quick Tips / July 10, 2013 / Kristie

Recently we mentioned the release of a new Wufoo Connector and how you can create forms using Wufoo. You can also create forms directly in Daylite. These forms can be used to collect information in Daylite and can be linked to contacts or projects. You can also use these forms to filter information or to create reports. Forms are essentially for gathering information, but what you do to collect and filter that information to benefit your company, is where your personal touch comes into play.

To create a form in Daylite, simply go to Daylite ‘preferences’ and click on the ‘forms’ icon. From there you can set up a new form by clicking on the  “+” in the bottom left corner and then assign a name and description. Now you can start to create new “fields” for the information you will be gathering.

An easy example is a real estate agent using forms to organize information about new houses on the market. You could collect data involving numbers as a range such as the number of bedrooms, or a price range to later filter by. Or you could add information as a check box like whether a condo is pet friendly. There are endless possibilities with utilizing forms for your benefit.

Another use could be a sales representative using forms to gather personal information about leads or clients including personal interests so that later they can filter through interests. For example they may have tickets to a baseball game and need to quickly filter through their contacts to find clients that share an interest in a specific sports team. For example they may have tickets to a baseball game and need to quickly filter through their contacts to find clients that share an interest in a specific sports team. You could even use forms for event planning to collect information about various venues so you can easily search through venues in your database for fast options at your fingertips!

There’s many different way of utilizing these forms to suite your needs. And once you have this information collected you can link it to a contact or a project so that later you are able to filter through that information.
