WhoPaste 1.2 released, now with Daylite Support

June 10, 2009 on 12:32 pm | Ryan

WhoPaste 1.2, released this morning, includes support for Daylite.

With WhoPaste, you can create contacts directly from text or spreadsheets – then store in Daylite, Google Contacts (GMail), Entourage and/or Address Book.

Support for Daylite includes contact and organization options for Category, Keywords, Priority, Tagline, and “Flag”.

There’s a free evaluation version version that will allow you to save 20 contacts to any combination of supported data storage.

Every time I try to use WhoPaste it launches Entourage, which I don’t use. It’s a real pain. All I want is for the info to be available in Address Book and Daylite.

Also it would be great if you could have the option of removing the WhoPaste icon from the menu bar.

    Hi -

    I’m the developer of WhoPaste.

The ‘Entourage launch’ bug has been identified and will be fixed in the next release.
BTW: This bug only affects WhoPaste users who have elected to use the ‘Multi-Database’ feature and who have Entourage installed.

Running WhoPaste as a status item, an icon on the menu bar, is what allows WhoPaste to be instantly available via either hot key or contextual menu. The alternative is to run WhoPaste as a normal ‘dock-based’ application which would complicate the hot key binding as well as impact responsiveness.

Are there others who dislike the status item?

BTW: I have been working furiously on the next release of WhoPaste which has expanded the Daylite capabilities as well as the product in general. More to say on that later this week!
