Leopard OS users that would like to synchronize their Daylite database (contacts, task and appointments) with a clean Address Book and iCal database, follow the steps below:
1) Create a backup of your existing Daylite, AB and iCal databases.
(in Daylite select File -> Database -> Quick Backup - for the Address Book select File -> Export -> Address Book Archive... - for iCal select File -> Back up iCal...)
For iPhone Users ONLY:Warning, the next step will delete ALL of the data on the iPhone - make sure you have a backup of everything on the computer before proceeding!
Reset your iPhone to factory settings (settings -> general -> reset -> erase all content and settings).
2) Ensure that you are logged into your Daylite database
- Go to the Daylite menu bar and select Preferences... -> Synchronization
- Turn synchronization 'Off'
- Close the preferences window and exit the Daylite application (shortcut keys [apple] +q)
3) Using Apple's 'Spotlight' feature, perform a search for "iSync" (or look for it in your Applications folder)
- Launch iSync
- Go to the iSync menu bar and select iSync -> Preferences...
- Uncheck the "Enable syncing on this computer" box (if it's grayed out then pause from doing any activity you are preforming on your computer and wait for it to appear)
- In the same preference window click on the "Reset Sync History" button
- The following window should appear:

Click on the "Reset Sync History" button again to confirm your action.
4) If the Address Book and iCal applications are open, close them before proceeding with the next steps
- Using a 'Finder' window, navigate to the following location Home -> Library -> Application Support
- Locate and remove (trash) the 'AddressBook' folder
- Launch the Address Book
- This should create a blank Address Book database with only an 'Apple Computer' and default user contact card
5) Download the following empty iCal restore backup file to your desktop and unarchive it (this should produce a file titled "ORIGINAL-LEOPARD.icbu:
download- Double click the ORIGINAL-LEOPARD.icbu file (or drag it onto the iCal icon on your dock).
- The following window should appear:

Click on the 'Restore' button to confirm your action
-This should restore a blank iCal database with only the default 'Home' and 'Work' calendars
6) Go back to the iSync preferences window
- Check the box beside "Enable syncing on this computer" to turn it back on
- Exit iSync
7) Launch Daylite and login to your database
- Go to the Daylite menu bar and select Preferences... -> Synchronization
- Turn synchronization 'On'
- Proceed with the Synchronization setup and complete it (if applicable, ensure that "I synchronize with an iPhone or The Missing Sync for Palm OS"box is checked)
- When the sync has completed, check the data in your Address Book and iCal databases.
For iPhone Users:When you have verified that your data has successfully synchronized, you can now perform an iPhone sync
