- Click on DayLite in the menu bar.
- Select Preferences from the list.
- The Preferences window now appears.
- Click on the Classifications preference pane.
- The Categories tab should appear enabled. If it is not enabled, please select the Categories tab.
- Click on the gear pop-up button above the Category list.
- Select Add Category.
- A new blank category will appear in the Category list.
- Ensure that this newly created blank category is highlighted.
- Type in the name for the new Category.
- Enable the Active checkbox. (Note that a green ball now appears next to the Category name in the Category list)
- Select a colour for the new Category by clicking on the white box (the ink well).
- After selecting the colour close the colour window.
- Under the heading, The Category applies to...
- Enable the checkboxes of all DayLite Objects you would like this category to apply to.
This means that if I select Contacts and Organizations, the category can be applied to or an attribute of Contacts and Organizations, but it can not be applied to or an attribute of Timeblocks, Tasks, Projects, Groups or Opportunities.
After you have selected all the checkboxes you would like the Category to apply to and you are satisfied with the settings of your new Category, close the Preferences window.
