Symptoms: You are unable to connect to your database (online or offline) in Daylite (you get an "Unable to establish database admin connection" error), there is a continuous spinning wheel in OpenBase Manager and/or your databases are not visible in OpenBase Manager.
Solution:
- From Daylite (on the host machine), select Daylite -> Preferences
- Select the Database Administration icon
- Select the Status tab, then click the Open OpenBase Manager button. The OpenBase Manager utility opens
- Choose OpenBaseManager -> Local Preferences -> Local Host Settings
- Uncheck the "Automatic IP Address" checkbox
- Close the window and save the changes when prompted.
Alternatively, if you are unable to get into the OpenBase Manager preferences, make the change through the OpenBase System Preferences Pane:
- Quit Daylite (if open)
- Open the Apple system preferences
- Click on the "OpenBase" icon (located under the 'Other' heading)
- Verify if a check is placed in the 'Automatic IP address' box
- If there isn't a check, move onto step two
- If there is a check placed in the box, uncheck it, and then click on the 'Configure' button
- Authenticate yourself (enter your system password), and then close the preferences window
