If you are getting one of these alert messages:
"This database appears to be an offline database but the name is invalid. Offline database names must contain OFFLINE. To convert an offline database to online database, please consult the Knowledge Base on the Marketcircle website"
or
Database Update Required
"Daylite requires the database to be updated,
however, you must update the Main online database
and then recreate all offline databases"
then, at some point in the past, you renamed an offline database, copied an offine database from one computer to another and renamed it, or you are using a normal online database (in some rare cases, databases converted from the old 'personal edition' exhibit this alert as well)..
You cannot simply rename an offline database. It must be properly converted or you risk data loss in rare cases.
Please download the
Offline Converter utility. To perform the conversion, please do the following:
- Uncompress the zip file
- Launch the Converter
- In the window, select your database (make sure no one is using it and quit all instance of Daylite)
- Click on the 'Convert' button
Your database will be converted and stopped. When you login from Daylite, the database will be restarted (it make a few minutes for some large databases).
The word 'OFFLINE' will be removed from the database name if it exists.
If you have other offline databases, they must be recreated. Stop and
discard the old ones using OpenBase Manager, then recreate them using
Daylite (File -> Database -> Go Offline). You risk data loss at
some future point if you do not recreate them.
Why is the alert appearing now?
The requirement of converting offline databases has always been there, but we didn't enforce it. As of 3.0.2, we are enforcing the rule to safeguard your data.
