Marketcircle KB .: Daylite 3.x .: Database .: Where is my Daylite database located?

Where is my Daylite database located?

Daylite's original database location was:
Hard Drive -> Library -> OpenBase -> Databases folder

As of version 1.7.4, databases can be located in a different folder:-
Hard Drive -> Users -> Shared -> Databases.obstorage

If you upgraded from version 1.7.3 or below, the database location will remain as Hard Drive -> Library -> OpenBase -> Databases
However, if you made a fresh install of Daylite version 1.7.4 and above, then your databases will be located in:
Hard Drive -> Users -> Shared -> Databases.obstorage

Please note the following:

*To verify the actual database directory (where Daylite is reading/writing to the database file), open the Daylite 'Administration' preference window, click on the 'Status' tab, and read the text under the "Databases Location" heading.

*"Databases.obstorage" is a package.
To see the contents of this package (where the actual databases are), you'll need to do a 'Show Package Contents' in the Finder (using the contextual menu).

*These locations are not in your home folder.
When you backup your database, you may want to consider copying/moving the backups to another storage medium in the event of a hardrive failure.

*Under no circumstances should databases be moved to/from the
Databases.obstorage folder.
You should use the archived backup files instead when moving databases.
