There are several ways to upgrade to Tiger. We will cover the most common ways and what to do with DayLite and DMI.

Clean Install of Tiger
This is when you plan to wipe out your harddrive, install Tiger and then re-install everything you need.
  • Before upgrading to Tiger, create a backup of your database(s) by using the 'Backup' toolbar item on the DayLite main window.
  • Copy that backup to a safe place such an external drive or burn it on a CD
  • Install Tiger
  • Install DayLite v1.7.4
  • Install DMI v1.2 (if you use it)
  • Uncompress your DayLite database from the backup to your Desktop
  • Using the Finder, go to Hard Drive -> Users -> Shared -> Databases.obstorage and do a 'Show Package Contents' using the contextual menu (right click or control-click)
  • Move the database from the Desktop into the Databases.obstorage folder
  • Launch DayLite
