Resetting your sync environment on Tiger (Mac OS X 10.4.x)

Tiger OS users that would like to synchronize their Daylite database (contacts, task and appointments) with a clean Address Book and iCal database, follow the steps below:

1) Create a backup of your existing Daylite, AB and iCal databases.
(in Daylite select File -> Database -> Quick Backup - for the Address Book select File -> Back up Address Book... - for iCal select File -> Back up Database...)

For iPhone Users ONLY:
Warning: The next step will delete ALL of the data on the iPhone - make sure you have a backup of everything on the computer before proceeding!
Reset your iPhone to factory settings (settings -> general -> reset -> erase all content and settings)

2) Ensure that you are logged into your Daylite database
- Go to the Daylite menu bar and select Preferences... -> Synchronization
- Turn synchronization 'Off'
- Close the preferences window and exit the Daylite application (shortcut keys [apple] +q)

3) Using Apple's 'Spotlight' feature, perform a search for "iSync" (or look for it in your Applications folder)
- Launch iSync
- Go to the iSync menu bar and select iSync -> Preferences...
- Uncheck the "Enable syncing on this computer" box (if it's grayed out then pause from doing any activity you are preforming on your computer and wait for it to appear)
- In the same preference window click on the "Reset Sync History" button
- The following window should appear:

Click on the "Reset Sync History" button again to confirm your action

4) If the Address Book and iCal applications are open, close them before proceeding with the next steps
- Using a 'Finder' window, navigate to the following location Home -> Library -> Application Support
- Locate and remove (trash) the 'AddressBook' and 'iCal' folders
- Launch Address Book and iCal
- This should create a blank Address Book database with only an 'Apple Computer' and default user contact card, and create a blank iCal database with only the default 'Home' and 'Work' calendars

5) Go back to the iSync preferences window
- Check the box beside "Enable syncing on this computer" to turn it back on
- Exit iSync

6) Launch Daylite and login to your database
- Go to the Daylite menu bar and select Preferences... -> Synchronization
- Turn synchronization 'On.' Note: In order to turn syncing On, ensure that you are connected to the main online database.
- Proceed with the Synchronization setup and complete it (if applicable, ensure that "I synchronize with an iPhone or The Missing Sync for Palm OS"box is checked)
- When the sync has completed, check the data in your Address Book and iCal databases.

For iPhone Users:
When you have verified that your data has successfully synchronized, you can now perform an iPhone sync
