How do I rename a database?
Please ensure that you have quit/closed the Daylite application before proceeding. Launch OpenBase Manager (located in /Applications/OpenBase/)
- Click on the Local icon in the left window.
- Select the Database whose name you would like to change.
- Click on the action menu and select 'Stop database' if it is not already stopped.
- Click on the action menu and select 'Configure Database'.
- A Configure Database window will appear for the Database.
- Click on the 'General' tab.
- Change the database name in the "Database Name" field and press return after entering the new name.
- Close the window and save the changes.
- If you notice that the name of the database hasn't changed, rename the database again.
- Confirm the name change and restart the database (click on the action menu and select 'Start database')
- When the database has started (denoted by a Green radio icon), quit OpenBase Manager by selecting 'OpenBaseManager' from the menu bar and clicking on 'Quit OpenBase Manager' in the menu items.
IMPORTANT: Do not rename Offline databases to be Online, or rename Online databases to be Offline. That may cause serious data loss. It is better to delete Offline databases, rename the Online database and create a new Offline database.
