The easier way to reduce the number of contacts/organization synchronized is to:
- Create a new group
- Add the desired contacts and/or organization to the new group (You can display the contacts in another window and then drag them to the new Group in the Groups list)
- Once you've added your contacts, go to the Palm Preferences (DayLite Menu -> Preferences -> Palm -> Contacts)
- In the Contacts tab, click on 'Constrain Synchronization to Group'
- A sheet will appear, locate that new group you created and double-click on it, then click on the 'Link' button
- Close the Preferences window
This will effectively limit the number of contacts synchronized. New Contacts created on the Palm will automatically be put into this group during sync operations. When you create a contact in DayLite, you will need to add the contact to the new group if you want them on your Palm.
NOTE: If you already have too many contacts on your Palm, you may want to do a 'hard reset' and start from scratch. See
this article.
Another strategy is too assign unneeded or unwanted contacts and organizations to another user.
