To remove a photo/picture of a contact, do the following:
*Go to the Contact view
*Go to the Contact tab of the contact view in the Detailed pane
*Simply select the picture of the contact (left to the contact name)
*A blue-neon border around the contact's picture indicates
  that its selected
*Go to the Edit menu -> select Clear
