Scenario:
*You have been using Daylite on the old (another) computer.
*You have moved to a new computer and cannot find your database
*Your old computer has 'crashed' and 'irreparable' OR
you have simply decided to move to a newer computer,
and your old computer still functions perfectly.
If the above scenario matches your situation, then you may be trying
to connect to a database which is still in the old computer. You can
continue with the following instructions.
It is important to remember that Daylite uses a database to
store and retrieve all of the data that you enter, modify or view.
Therefore, the database will have to be copied over to the newer
computer in addition to
downloading and installing the same
version of Daylite on the new computer.
Solutions:
1.0) If you are not concerned about the data that is in the old database,
then go ahead and create a new database on the new computer.
http://movies.marketcircle.com/mov/daylite3/DL323CreateNewDB.mov2.0) If the data is important, and your old computer is still fully functional,
copy the database over to the new computer from the old computer:
a) If Daylite is still installed in the old computer, follow the instructions
provided by the following article:
http://www.marketcircle.com/kb/idx/33/418/article/
b) If Daylite is not installed, or you are having trouble with 2.(a),
follow the instructions below:
1. Stop your database by following the instructions from this knowledge base article:
http://www.marketcircle.com/kb/idx/0/287/article/ 2. Go to HD/Users/Shared/
3. Control+click on Databases.obstorage -> select 'show packaged contents'
4. Select your database -> go to the File menu-> select"create archive of <your_database's_name> "
5. Copy this archive to the new computer's desktop. (you can use a network, fileshare, a CD, a USB drive, etc..to do the move)
6.
on the new computer, "un-archive" the database (double-click)
7. Restore the database with the help of the following training movie:
http://movies.marketcircle.com/mov/daylite3/DL323Restore.mov3.0) If you have had the old computer serviced and/or reinstalled the Operating System using the
