Can I convert my existing Daylite database into an industry specific database?

No. You can only create a new database from an industry-specific database template. You cannot convert or import your already existing database into an industry specific database.

The industry specific database templates were designed to help users with customizing Daylite by having familiar content in the preferences. For example, categories, keywords, and other forms of classification were customized to the specific industries. Another important reason for designing these templates was to develop a workflow that incorporates these customizations and defines how work is done in Daylite for people in these industries.

In order to try and test these databases, you can easily create a sample database and study the customized areas to see if they fit your business. To do this, choose File > Database > Go to Sample Database.

Based on our consultation with customers, prospective customers, and professionals working in the industry, we have suggested a certain workflow in the following Apple Help articles (requires Daylite 3.7 or later versions).
