I can no longer synchronize my offline database - my server IP has changed

Once you've created an Offline database, Daylite records the IP address of the Server from which this Offline database was created.

If the IP address of the server changes may be due to a power cut, server shutdown, or because the router was reset or due to any other reason that affects the network settings, then synchronization will no longer be allowed.

The resolution to this situation is very simple.

First of all, find out the new IP address of the server.

On the server or the computer that hosts Daylite, choose Daylite -> Preferences -> Administration -> 'Status.'

Under Settings, you will see the IP address of the server.

On the client/remote computer, connect to the Online database using the new IP address.
When you have successfully connected, go to the File menu and select File -> Database-> Go Offline.

This process will reset the IP address to the new one and the synchronization process will continue. You do not have to worry about the data on the offline database as Daylite will recognize the existing offline database and perform the proper sync.

If you have setup Daylite to automatically login, read this knowledge base article to find out how to prevent Daylite from automatically logging into the wrong database.
