For existing Daylite users, Daylite 3 uses a different database format and thus needs to upgrade Daylite 3.x databases to be compatible with the new format
This cannot be undone, nor will a Daylite 3.1 database work with previous Daylite 3 application


1) Launch Daylite 3.1 located in /Applications/Daylite 3/Daylite

2) Connect to the existing 3.x database
The next panel that appears is the "Connect to Database" panel:

3) Upgrade the 3.x database schema

Press the "Update Now" button. A back up of your 3.x database will be made, and your 3.x database will be upgraded to the Daylite 3.1 database format. Depending on the size of your 3.x database, this could take awhile (upwards to an hour!). Please be patient and allow it to continue. This only has to be done once per database.

4) Use Daylite!
Once the upgrade has completed you are ready to start using Daylite 3.1

Users with Offline Databases
You will NOT be required to recreate any offline databases. Once the upgrade takes place, you will be able to sync with your online database.

Palm Users
Once you've installed Daylite 3, you will need to install the latest version of the Daylite Palm Conduit (v1.9.0).
The only change here is to account for the new schema version.
