What is the purpose of the OpenBase security settings in my System Preferences?

OpenBase Manager v10.x allows you to further secure your database(s) by setting Host and Read passwords in your Apple system preferences (as shown below):-

However, please note that the READ [1] or HOST [2] passwords have no association
with the passwords for user accounts in Daylite at this present time, and we strongly suggest that these fields are left blank and are not set.

It is also recommended that the values for options [5], [6] & [7] are left unchanged, as any alterations could hinder you from accessing the Daylite database.

Option [3] - It is recommended that the option to 'Start OpenBase Processes at Computer Startup' is left checked.

Option [4] - This option (Enable Network Access) should be selected for any computers that act as servers.
If you are in a multi-user environment, check this option on the computer where the database resides.

If you have forgotten the password for your Daylite user accounts,
