I'm using a Firewall, exactly which ports should I open?

If you need to turn on your firewall or you are using a firewall device, then following ports need to be open.

The minimum ports

  • 20221
  • 20222
  • Plus one additional port. That's the port on which your database is running on. (If you do not specify a specific port, then the port number could be anywhere from 20223 to 20300.)
For example, let's say that you are running your database on port 5000, you would have the following ports open:

  • 20221
  • 20222
  • 5000

If you have not specified a port for your database, then you must open the following port range:

  • 20220 to 20300

You can also change the port a database runs on using OpenBaseManager.

If you are using a firewall device, then you will also need to forward those ports to the specify internal computer that hosts the database.
