I'm unable to install a connector plugin.
|
Problem:
I'm receiving the following error message when attempting to install a Daylite plugin
"Unable to create folder Library/Application Support/Daylite/PlugIns. Please check your permissions and try again."
Why could this be happening?
When installing one of the three connector plugins (FileMaker, Moneyworks or LightSpeed), a folder named "PlugIns" is created in the following directory:
Home -> Library -> Application Support -> Daylite
If a permissions alert appears, it's possible that one of the folders leading up to Daylite is not read and writable
Resolution:
Make sure that all folders and files in the following path are writable:
Home -> Library -> Application Support -> Daylite
You can verify this by doing the following:-
-open a 'Finder' window -go to Home -> Library -> Application Support -select the "Daylite" folder -from the Finder menu bar, select File -> Get Info -expand the 'ownership and permissions' area (for Tiger users), or 'sharing and permissions (for Leapard users) and make sure you can 'Read & Write' -to make a change, click on the 'lock' icon (if required, authenticate yourself) -close the lock to save the changes (perform the above procedure with the 'Library' and 'Application Support' as well if applicable)
