We’re very excited to announce that Daylite Verson 4.2 is here! Daylite 4.2, Daylite Server 4.2 & Daylite Mail Assistant 4.2 are now available for download on the Marketcircle website.
In this version, we’ve added tons of new features while continuing to focus on improving stability and performance. Visit our Knowledge Base for a full list of bug fixes. Our partners at Learn Daylite provided a video overview of what’s new in 4.2:
To recap, the most important features added in Daylite Version 4.2 are listed below:
Sync Indicator
We’ve improved the sync engine and added a sync indicator located in the top right hand corner of the Daylite window. Similar to the Mac Mail app, the indicator will not be visible if everything is working properly. If there’s an issue, a lightning bolt icon will appear and by clicking on the icon, relevant information about the issue will become available. If a more serious issue is detected, a red exclamation icon will appear. Watch a video on the Sync Indicator.
Finding Duplicates and Multi-Combine
We’ve created this really handy feature to minimize confusing contact double entry. Now Daylite can seek out duplicate contacts quickly then combine them in a single record. The multi-combine feature will merge information in all duplicate records into a single record to save you tons of time copying and pasting from one record to another. German and French Localization
You can now run Daylite, DMA and Daylite Server Admin in German or French. The entire interface and reports have been localized. We have partners offering services and training in French and German.
All existing customers will receive an email at some point today notifying them on the upgrade process. Please note, if you choose to update Daylite from the Mac App Store, you must still refer to the email or our website for instructions on updating Daylite Server & Daylite Mail Assistant. Daylite 4.2 will be available on MAS at some point this week. If you are new to Daylite, you can sign-up here to receive a 30 day free trial. It’s on the list to seriously evaluate in a month or two.
The upgrade process went very smoothly…now, I’m waiting for the “find duplicates” process to finish. I initiated my first try at the process and all my memory resources (Real Memory allocated to Daylite in Activity Monitor = 4.38G – YIKES!) are dedicated to Daylite 4.2 – I’m going to wait it out to see if I the process will complete or if I’ll have to reset my computer to use it again.

Great innovation with the Duplicate Checker. This will be a huge help to me having inherited a shared database with clients who repeat years apart, or five or so contacts coming out of one company. Will upgrade today!

Does anyone have a performance issue with Daylite 4? (any version 4.0, 4.1 or 4.2). As soon as I install Daylite, performance slows, by a huge amount.
Kyle, can you please open a support ticket on this so we can have a deeper look. What you describe is not normal.

Kelly, our first objective is replacing the need for a server and being able to scale that. After that, there are lots of exciting possibilities!
I wish you would have integrated Billings Pro into DL and made your billing features much more robust. I’ve been wishing about this for a very long time now and, sadly, don’t expect it to ever happen.

I would really love to see Billings & Daylite combined into One app! Or at least have it as a possible feature in Daylite. The current “exporting” from DL to B don’t quite cut it for me…
