If you’ve been keeping up with the general internet news, you are probably aware of the recent OpenSSL security bug, nicknamed “Heartbleed“.
Like everyone else, our engineers got the word yesterday and immediately sprung into action.
The cloud infrastructure for Billings Pro was updated within the hour and our other web assets where updated throughout the rest of the day and into the night.
We also tested our apps (OpenSSL is used by both Daylite Server and Billings Pro Server for secure, encrypted communication) and luckily both of them use the Mac OS X system version of OpenSSL which is not affected. On the app side, we use Apple’s Secure Transport, which is also not affected.
It was a bit scary at first, but I’m happy to report that we are good on this one.
