Database Initialization Error: The server could not create your database

Symptom

When you connect to Daylite iOS for the first time, an error message is produced "Database Initialization Error: The server could not create your database. Please contact your system administrator."

Why is this problem occurring

The user in your database doesn't have a contact record associated to it.

Solution

  1. Open Daylite and go into the Daylite Preferences.
  2. Click on Users and Teams.
  3. One by one, select each of your users and make sure there is a contact associated with the user. If there isn't a contact card linked to the user account, then click on the "Change" button in the lower right and search for the appropriate contact card. If one does not exist, go a head and create a contact card as normal and then link it using the same steps.
