Stacey Kvernmo is a web designer and front end developer. She works mainly with small to mid sized businesses to help them develop their whole identity, print collateral and web presence. What was the most painful thing about your previous billing and invoicing solution?

Before I started using Billings Pro I used Bento to track time and InDesign to create my invoices which was a very manual and tedious process. I then found Marketcircle's Billings 3. This was such a blessing. It automated everything, I was able to create my own statement, invoice and estimate templates and it did wonderful reporting. The only item it lacked was the ability to sync it from multiple computers. Also, we occasionally have additional staff who were unable to enter their own time. I had to manually go in and add this to each project.

How has Billings Pro alleviated this distress?

I LOVE the fact that all my billing data stays in sync, without me having to worry. It also backs up the data which is very important to me. I really enjoy the iPhone app that I can use on the run as well as the ability to add employees so they can track their own time.

Looking back, at what point did Billings Pro really stand out and become the tool with which you wanted to move forward?

I love the interface. I tried a few other programs, but Billings Pro just stood out being user friendly. The customizable templates were key and I did enjoy the fact that (at the time) they announced a companion iPhone app. And I love the reporting feature, I use it religiously to find out what I've billed out, what I'm owed, who my top clients are, and so much more. It gives you so many options as to how the data is shown.

Have you noticed an improvement in client interaction and satisfaction?

The time it takes for billing clients has been cut waaayyy down. It isnt such a pain anymore. This frees up our time to focus on the design projects and deliver each project faster making the clients happy and more likely to return for future projects.

How has Billings Pro improved your workflow and productivity?

The ability to sync just makes it so much easier than me either writing down my time by hand or having two computers in front of me when I can. Not only does it help speed up my invoicing time, it is also tremendous for our turnaround time for estimates, which are always needed "yesterday" for most clients. By using one of the many custom templates we set up enables us to turn around this paperwork quickly.

Has Billings Pro improved your time tracking accuracy? If so, how?

Absolutely. Before I'm sure we left some time out since I was recording it manually. That little start timer button makes it really easy to track time with accuracy. Writing it down on paper was probably the worst solution.

Describe how Billings Pro has helped you to increase your monthly revenue.

I can honestly say that Billings Pro greatly frees up my paperwork time, making our company much more efficient. Time = money and I do not have to worry about any wasted time that I used to experience with my old billing solution.

Any other comments?

Love love love Billings Pro. One of my favourite all time programs. I recommend it to any Mac based company that is looking for a solution. It will always be in my dock :)
